About Us
Gracenote Music is a South African group of musicians and was established in 2007. The group originated in Pretoria, Gauteng, and is still based in and around the Pretoria area, but will travel almost anywhere where music is needed. The original core group consisted of a flute, violin and cello trio and still mostly performs as this combination today. Gracenote Music has grown since 2007 and today consists of a network of professional musicians, of varying instrument combinations, who regularly performs in concert halls and events around the Gauteng area, whether it being on stage in an orchestra or at an event as part of a background music chamber group. The members of the group all form part of various chamber music groups and projects, and all are active orchestral players, currently playing for the Gauteng Philharmonic Orchestra as well as freelancing for prominent orchestras around the province. They are passionate about music and can tailor the music selection to suit any event, whether it being a wedding, birthday party, corporate event or concert. The trio plays a wide range of music, from Classical to jazz and contemporary popular music. The group aims to continuously extend their repertoire and therefore arranges their own music, specifically for the flute, violin and cello trio instrumental combination, and can arrange any special request for the event.
